[ It probably went something like this:

T: King, are you heading out too?
M: Yeah.
T: Ohhh!! Then, will you come with me?

But, however it went, they're strolling now in the park, the glow of the full moon and the lights of street lamps illuminating and guiding their steps. It's the peak of summer where the air is warm and the water still with fireflies are dancing over the pond -- all of it comes together to make a beautiful midnight walk. Totsuka's eyes shift from one sight to the next, marvelling at everything. Mid-step, he turns, at last, to face Suoh. ]

What do you think? [ He's smiling as he asks, it's probably a fruitless question, but it's one he has to ask anyway. ]

[aflamed]

[Hands in pocket, cigarette burning away in his mouth, and walking beside him, he hasn't said much of anything since they they started walking together. Not hat he really needed to, so he lets the other do the talking. Speaking of talking, when he's asked the question, he's really not sure what to say. It's not that he can't appreciate this all, but why is it being brought up is what throws him off.

He looks around briefly before staring at Totsuka. He's walked this way plenty of times and he's sure Totsuka has, too. Before he even says a word, he makes a sound that confirms he heard him.] It's quiet.

[Well, not a bad description at all at least. He likes the silence and how it's not hectic. He's also sure Anna would enjoy watching fireflies near the pond. Actually, the question he asked makes him start thinking about what the other Homra members would say, but he doesn't voice that. Instead he just exhales some cigarette smoke.]

[ Totsuka makes a sound of delight, pleased with the answer and then speaks as if reciting something he's read: ]

A quiet evening spot to enjoy the beauty of nature with your loved one! Satisfaction guaranteed!

[ It may not be a good idea to ask where he's read that. ]

[ But when he turns back to look at their surroundings again, it's the same thought he has on his mind and he chuckles for it. ]

If all of us were here, it'll end up really noisy... [ Even so, he doesn't sound like he minds it. ] How about it, King? Let's come here again soon, but with everyone else!

[aflamed]

[He knows better not to ask by this point. It's nice, sure, but it doesn't ping romantic. Yet that sort of thing never interested him anyway so what does he know.

Him mentioning the others, it just goes to show they're on the same wave length. He's always been good at understanding him, even if he's a little eccentric or lively at times. That makes him special, though, standing out from the rest of the group.]

It'd be different. [He shrugs. Not that he says it's a bad idea or anything like that. It's his way of saying sure.] Anna would like the fireflies.

[ Agreeing excitedly with shining eyes, Totsuka looks around, trying to decide what they could do with everyone around. Playing sports, an evening picnic, firefly-catching...

As usual, the world was filled with so many interesting things -- but, as interesting as it was, nothing compared to the companions he had come to known. ]

How about tomorrow?

[aflamed]

Tell Kusanagi. [Which means he's fine with it and everyone else has to do the work to plan and organize everything else out. It's fire family trip time!!

But then he looks up at the sky, pausing to get a good look at them, exhaling smoke again. The stars, they look really nice. It's late at night, though, way past Anna's bedtime to say the least. Anna would like the stars, too, he thinks to himself.] Too late for Anna to see the stars like this. [He's still looking at them, not walking.]

[ He almost considers taking his phone out in the middle of the night to dial Kusanagi about this, but it's midnight, the sky is beautiful, he's with somebody important -- there's always later. ]

Then, shall we film it for her? [ Shall he -- not that he has his camera with him at the moment. ]

[He looks at him, shrugging a little, not objecting at all it seems, but then he looks back at the stars. Would it be the same he wonders. Probably not, and something will always be missing. He doesn't mind Totsuka's hobby of filming and capturing memories, but something is always missing. Would the film capture the context of it all? Probably not.

But he's not going to say that.

Instead, he watches what looks like to be a shooting star. He knows what they're associated with, but he's not into believing them. He glances at the person near him, seeing what his reaction is.]
